What is Estill Voice Training?
The American singer, teacher and voice researcher Jo Estill (1921- 2010) developed Estill Voice Training in the 1980’s to prove that individual structures or functional areas in our vocal instrument can be moved independently from each other. Each person can produce all possible vocal sounds if they learn to control the movements of the 13 functional areas (tongue, palate, larynx, etc.). In addition, common voice qualities such as opera sound, belt sound, speech, twang or falsetto are part of the Estil Voice Training.
How do I achieve my vocal goals effectively and quickly? How can I specifically solve my vocal problems or improve my sound?
The Estill Model has been produced to help individuals develop a vocally secure and controlled technique of the spoken and singing voice, regardless of the vocal style. It is a scientifically based and a well-structured method of functional voice training used internationally by singers, actors, public speakers, voice and speech therapists as well as singing teachers.
